Today's Sacred Text
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26 NRSV
Greetings, may grace and peace be yours today in abundance.
So glad you could join this morning in prayer and meditation. collectively we begin to find our daily anchor. this is how we block out the noise. the hum of the world. the things that distract us from the core of our being. that spark, that flame within that motivates us to become the magnificent creatures we already are.
no one ever injured their eyesight by looking on the bright side. By that famous person anonymous.
Let's take in a deep breath through our nose and exhale through our mouth. again, allow perfect peace to come through our body through our temple. by breathing in through our nose and exhaling through our mouth. when i do that exercise I allow it to slightly vibrate the lips. it is a key to harmony and tranquility.
The sacred text for this morning beloved is from the book of numbers chapter 6 verse 24 through 26. the lord bless you, and keep you. the lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you. the lord lift his countenance upon you and give you peace.
Bless God all my soul and all that is within me. for there is nothing I have to work for. no penitence I have to accomplish in order for the Lord to shine upon me. for Divine Love to be gracious to me. for the countenance of love to surround me. for my body to exist with perfect peace.
This morning we declare peace on earth. we declare it to begin with ourselves. thank you God that we can have this peace on earth. that we can accomplish great and mighty things. simply by focusing on Divine Love and providence. The birds of the air worry not how they will be fed today. Spirit supplies all that they need as well as for us.
As we are about to step off into that silent place, i invite you beloved to recognize and see. that in the silence is whatever it takes for you to get there. in prayer we talk to God, but in the silence we listen. some scribble in a journal, some work on a decoupage. whatever it takes for you to sit in the silence. if it makes perfect sense to just sit there in the silence. then do so, but know right now in this holy place as we collectively gather our thoughts... God is speaking to us. all we have to do is listen in the silence.
(15 minutes of silent meditation)
Welcome back, this power that we have tapped into this morning is there for us all day long. I have learned through years of prayer and meditation that is quite easy to listen to the Spirit. while you are awake as well as asleep. The heavenly choir sings to us throughout the day. It's just a metaphor, don't get hung up on this. My personal prayer this morning is that we recognize that this last year has been a very difficult journey. that many fuses are short. that we would learn to pump the brakes just a little bit. when we encounter others on this journey of life. that we would be just a little kinder to ourselves each and every day. that we would realize that we are not bigger than God. Therefore we must forgive ourselves, for God has already done so. Grace is free to all. wrap yourself up on that this morning like a warm cozy blanket on a chilly may rainy day. you and i are mightily blessed and highly favored. yes sometimes life can be difficult. sometimes life can be hard. outside today it is rainy and gloomy and the skies are gray. but know this even during all of that, up behind the clouds is the beautiful warm sunshine. it is coming, it will be here. just hold onto the plow. just hold on. thank you for joining this morning in prayer and meditation. I hope you leave with a sense of joy, peace and love. go in peace beloved and always Namaste.
