Transcript:

It is such a blessing to live in the heart of God. To find gratitude before me, gratitude below me, gratitude above me, gratitude behind me.

Ben Franklin said “When the Well is dry we know the wealth of water.” I can’t tell you how much it pleases me that the Well never runs dry. Years ago when we went to state parks. We would find a pump. All the children got so excited when we grabbed that lever and pumped the water up from the ground. We were not even thirsty, we just wanted to see what it could do. This is what prayer and meditation is, we get so excited, and we grab the lever, and we pump the water up from the ground until it flows. Come with me to the park and grab the lever, let’s just see what comes out.

Please find a comfortable position. Peace be still and know I am God. Breathe in through your nose a deep breath, and exhale through your mouth. Let’s do that again. Breathe in through your nose and exhale through your mouth. This is how we overcome the thoughts of the monkey mind. We release anything, that no longer serves us.

Beloved the sacred text for today is from the book of 1 Thessalonians chapter five and verse eleven. Encourage one another and build up each other. Let us affirm right now that we will continue to encourage one another, and build each other up. This is the power of oneness. The power of now.

We light a candle in our heart space. It is a representation of everything we need for ourselves and for others. We pray for those we know, maybe even ourselves, and those we don’t know. So many people in their afflictions, be it physical or mental. We lift them up. We lift ourselves up. Pillars of light for the community into our neighborhoods, into our city, into our state, this nation. and the world. We bring those blessings right back into our living space, where we are in the here and the now.

So many beautiful souls that are out of work right now. I pray for Joe, that young man who stands at the corner of Baldwin street and Williamson street. With a sign that says “anything will help.” he lost his job, the Manna café closed on Sherman avenue. I pulled over and asked him his story so that I would know what to pray for. Bless Joe with the center of the core of his being with the power to obtain the skills necessary to obtain a really good job. We love you Joe. we hold you in sacred space.

Truly there is but one presence and one power in my life and yours, God the good.

We pray for the freedom, to be gentle with ourselves so that we can be gentle with others. Have compassion and understanding for the thorn in other people’s side. We pray o God, that we would find forgiveness within. That we would forgive ourselves for anything where we missed the mark. Prepare the hearts of those we may have slighted in the past. Show them the path to forgiveness. That breaks the chains that bind them. Breathe in this moment, and exhale whatever it took to get here. Allow the God that is always issing. To be a comfort, to be wisdom in your life… in the silence.

(Ten Minutes Of Silent Meditation)

Beloved I hope that you can see when I look into your eyes what I see. You are strong and beautiful. Like a tree with strong roots next to the water. Everything you touch produces and thrives. An unknown author said “don’t let anyone turn your sky into a ceiling.” so this morning we are Aaron and Hur standing on a hill on each side of the Reverend Evin Wilkins. We are his prop and his support this morning, his Samekh. We pray for the pastor of the United Methodist church. Bashford United Methodist church. The Reverend Amanda Stein, we lift her up during these difficult times. We pray for the Deacon of that same church, Kory Douglass. There are some unknowns coming their way. We pray for both Bashford and Unity of Madison. Removes the log jams that prevent the Holy Spirit from moving freely among the saints of God. Allow us all to be Spirit led, and Spirit fed.

The theme for today is Free to be me. I will say the affirmation and I invite you to say it with me. I am free, I am unlimited. There are no chains that bind me. Beloved there are no chains that hold you back. The power of the Holy Spirit breaks them and sets you free.

O thank you for your presence this morning in prayer and meditation. It excites me that there are people hungry to connect, to the river of life. Flowing down in our souls. Be yourself no matter what other people think. God made you who you are for a reason. Besides an original is always worth more than a copy. Be gentle with yourself if you wish to be gentle with others. It is a golden rule. Please be a lighthouse to the world today, rather than a storm. Go in peace beloved and Namaste.
