Concrete Jungle – Poetry

So tell me again mother, What were the trees like?
What about the sky? was it blue?

Living on the edge in the concrete jungle
Monkeys everywhere dancing like puppets on a string

Living on the edge in the concrete jungle
Monkeys everywhere dancing like puppets on a string

Pretty soon we will have wires tapped to our heads
Showing us the things that are going on in another part of the world

I think it might resemble something like George Orwell's 1984

Big brother watching, Keep it kind of proud
Big brother watching, don't ya speak to loud
Big brother watching cause your living on the edge in the concrete jungle

Monkeys everywhere dancing like puppets on a string
Living on the edge in the concrete jungle
Monkeys everywhere dancing like puppets on a string

Never mind we spilled all that oil in your oceans
It will never do you any harm
We have drinking water dressed in plastic
It just may make you sick
Watched the news on television
Nothing more than tabloid sensationalism

Living on the edge in the concrete jungle
Monkeys everywhere dancing like puppets on a string

Living on the edge in the concrete jungle
Monkeys everywhere dancing like puppets on a string

I'll see you sometime in another part of the world.
