Sin
This topic is a rather eccentric issue one can find variations on this
topic that are vast from writer to writer. We will be exploring the
different facets of sin. Hopefully removing some of the myths, showing
the reality of sin.
Sin in the beginning wasn't such a huge list of rules as most modern
religious orders use to control the masses. Priesthoods haven't changed
a whole lot. They generally rule through fear, rarely presenting the
"word" in a balanced manner to educate the laymen.
As far back as the ancient Sumerian peoples, goats have been sacrificed
as a scape-goat. the tribes, or cities would make
an elaborate ritual. For cleansing everyone's sin. Sacrifice was also
used for protection, and paying homage to the geographical deities.
What is
Sin
Probably the best description
for Sin, I had ever heard was by a fundamentalist evangelist Reverend
Stoneking. He had rather unique
perspectives for a fundamentalist movement. I have to
say if fundamentalism could ever be reformed; it would have been
through the younger trained ministers such as this powerful, yes... Man
of G*d.
"Sin is the archer taking aim at the bulls-eye, but missing it,
while still sinking the arrow somewhere near the center on the target."
meaning, it is not a complete failure of things, just not our
best that we can be.
In the early chapters of
Genesis we find G*d speaking to Cain,
concerning what he had done to his brother Abel.
Genesis 4:6
And the Lord Said to Cain, why
are you so distressed, and why
is your
face fallen? 7.Surely, if you do right, There is uplift. But if you do
not do right Sin couches at the door; Its urge is toward you, yet you
can be its master.
Master
Your own sin
Don't be bothered by the words
and restrictions of others, concerning
"your" sins. Sin is what we recognize as the things in our lives that
need to become better. That is all, there is no great mystery behind
this. But the ones who refuse to overcome their sins. Become harnessed
by their sins. Meaning it becomes a yoke of bondage upon the
individual, and because of shame, the individual will bury their
sub-conscious mind, in
the name of righteousness.
I personally cannot accept the
whole, sin is anything that separates
you from G*d doctrine. This just isn't "Biblical", G*d according to any
scripture, is ever present. There can be no
fragmentation from G*d, with the exceptions of the individual ignoring
the manifestation. Sort of like sitting in a room with another person,
consciously knowing they are there, but not engaging them in
conversation. They
are there, and the comfort in the mind is, if I don't talk to this
stranger then I am safe. But the apprehension is still there, the
tension builds until someone gets up and leaves.
Rightly
Dividing the Word
II Timothy 2:15-16
Study to shew thyself approved
unto G*d, a workman that
needeth not to
be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16. But shun profane
and vain babbling: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
Timothy was
one of Pauls students, he worked hard
going to the various churches in western Asia and teaching them
according to Pauls Gospel.
There is a major difference between a dabbler and an individual who is
master of their life. The dabbler won't take the time to do the
research looking into the things that separate us from higher things.
Shame is A robe that is put on, because of personal failure. It
generally is the number one reason that keeps us from being intimate
with the things of Heavenly virtue.
When one removes themselves from ridiculous arguments with others,
concerning scripture and doctrine, they are able to protect the soul.
The skilled craftsman knows what tools are needed to perfect the
mission.
What
is the definition of the
"Word"
The Word that the Apostle Paul
is referencing in the book of II
Timothy, is written to one of his disciples. A minister in training,
his name was Timothy, and Paul was instructing him on carrying out his
ministry in the church.
At the time of this letter to
his student, there was not a Christian
Bible, it would be canonized much later. So in context, Paul is
speaking of the Torah, not the Christian Bible. Which so many of the
modern churches will proclaim.
Here is just one prime example
of the major differences between Judaism
and modern
Christianity.
they are not the same as the "Judea-Christians" would
assume to be. Judaism embraces the Torah as a deep heart felt
relationship, a gateway to the Lord Ha-Shem. It is my opinion that if
Paul had known that his letters, were going to be used for "the church
of Paul" then he would have never written down a single letter. lest it
take away from what he believed to be the fulfillment of the law, being
Jesus Christ was Lord. Paul even warns of this in his epistles! But yet
they were taken and used to become his doctrine, rather than taking
into account more than one source.
A
method for Dividing and
reconciling
One Rabbinical teaching for
Rightly Dividing the Word, take two
seemingly opposite scriptures, and then reconcile them with a third.
Spinoza in the book theological-political treatise, the chapter on
scriptural Interpretation is as follows:
On every side we hear men
saying that the Bible is the Word
of G*d, teaching mankind true blessedness, or the path to salvation.
But the facts are quite at variance with their words, for people in
general seem to make no attempt whatsoever to live according to the
Bible's teachings. We see that nearly all men parade their own ideas as
G*d's Word, their chief aim being to compel others to think as they do,
while using religion as a pretext. We see, I say, that hate chief
concern of theologians on he whole has been to extort from Holy
Scripture their own arbitrarily invented ideas, for which they claim
divine authority. In no other field do they display less scruple and
greater temerity than in the interpretation of scripture, the ind of
the Holy Spirit, and if while doing they feel any misgivings, their
fear is not that they may be mistaken i their understanding of the Holy
Spirit and may stray from the path to salvation, but that others may
convict them of error, thus annihilating their personal prestige and
bringing them into contempt.
Now if men were really sincere in what they profess with regard to Holy
Scripture, they would conduct themselves quite differently: they would
not be racked by so much quarreling and such bitter feuding, and they
would not be gripped by this blind and passionate desire to interpret
Scripture and to introduce innovations in religion. On the contrary,
they would never venture to accept as Scriptural doctrine what was not
most clearly taught by scripture itself. and finally, those
sacrilegious persons who have had the hardihood to alter Scripture in
several places would have been horrified at the enormity of the crime
and would have stayed their impious hands.
The words are very bright, and articulate, Spinoza points out that the
doctrines of man are not the covenant of G*d. He points out that the
interpretations are not the same as the text states. changing the words
completely, rather than implying the basic elements of what that
particular line is saying.
The Leviticus 18:22 Scripture implies the following:
While performing rituals in the
tabernacle, do not partake of
the pagan practice of male and female prostitution. G*d considers this
to be an abomination, and removes the true spirit of the Tabernacle's
purpose.
Here is the an interpretation from the book, "living books of
moses" :
Homosexuality is absolutely
forbidden, for it is an enormous
sin.
So you can see dear reader, that there is absolutely no reference to
the original scriptural evidence, leaving only hints of truth in the
interpretation. Furthering the darkness for the believers and the non
faith peoples of the world. allowing for no further discussion on the
topic of Gay issues.
this by far has to be the most horrible example of promoting doctrines
of man rather than G*d's desire for a covenant with man. The Jews
called the Covenant a "mitzvahs", it means "blessings, and covenant".
There is no part of this passage that shows how an individual can be
blessed by G*d. Leaving the faithful trying to fix something that isn't
broken.
Finding
the Balance
Finding one's core being,
is a task that should never be taken
lightly. We should always endeavor to be perfect, knowing that we never
truly can be. All of us have some sort of darkness within. The accuser
forever
pointing a finger at us, letting us know, a ha! you are not a child of
heaven! you are merely a valley of dry bones!
So many young people I know,
don't "study to show themselves approved".
I think that fear comes from ignorance. That is the understanding
for me, "fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom". You know you
need a change... but are afraid of what you are doing, not knowing the
right and proper course to take. Paradise seems so far away when we are
"separated" from G*d. The only way to realize that we indeed are not
separate, is to become well informed, not relying on others. but
digging for the truth for yourselves.
Plato said the words "know
thyself" and allegedly Jesus in the Gospels
says "Physician Heal Thyself". We can only fix ourselves, but are we
truly broken? We only feel broken as a result of not learning and
growing beyond our current means. Moderation in all things is key and
critical to becoming a good watchman for your own soul, over indulgence
of anything leads to self in denial and puffed up analogies that have
nothing to do with the situation in need of attention. How often will
the guy with a hang-over say "I shouldn't drink when I haven't
slept for a few days" to excuse his behaviors.
Once a person begins to take
into themselves their own accounts for
their actions, then they will no longer create or invent new theories,
appeasing the consciousness. Studying a thing is one thing, but
becoming an actual "doer of the word" is quite another. |
