One Social Dilemma of our modern era is that of Illegal Immigrants within our Country's borders. There needs to be some type of resolution to this problem that can best serve both the United States best interests, and migrant workers, or immigrants who desire citizenship.

I have heard many aspects to the equation. I am not so sure that there is one solid way to fix this situation stateside. Our nation's modern heritage is based on immigration. We probably need Immigrants to keep the economy sustainable and in perpetual motion.

I am not for blanket Amnesty of illegal immigrants. I feel that first and foremost if a company on American soil has illegal immigrants working for them. Then it is the responsibility of that company to obtain legal green card status for those employees. People seem to forget that not all illegal immigrants will be fine outstanding citizens. A percentage of those who are in the United States are of the criminal element. It is time that employers are held accountable for their illegal activities. Hiring illegal immigrants is a criminal action. It should be prosecuted as such.

Another thing we absolutely must do is secure our borders. Not just the ability to come in from Mexico or Canada. But from air and sea as well. Our infrastructure in America is in poor condition and open season for all types of criminal activities and elements. From Terrorism to Black Market drug and other merchandise being imported.

The green card system may need to be re-evaluated and changes may need to be applied. It should be easy for foreign workers to come here and work for sustainable wages. There should be no need for good outstanding citizens of other countries to be here illegally. What we want is to keep the criminal elements outside of our borders.

One aspect that I haven't seen discussed very much in the media. I have witnessed this myself. It is very easy for an illegal alien to commit a major crime such as murder. Then slip quietly back across the borders and disappear into their home country. Many illegal immigrants know this and are very aware of it. So implementing a rule of law that demands that all illegal immigrants must apply for green card status, or leave our country's soil. Another possibility is for them to be able to apply for citizenship. Ether way, we maintain some level of integrity.

So if they are fine good quality hard working individuals. I have no problem with them being here. Just do it from a legal position. Otherwise deportation is in order. If they commit a serious crime in the states such as armed robbery or murder. They should be prosecuted first and then serve the time and then be deported to their home country of origin.

I know that this article seems a bit harsh, problem is the topic is harsh. Some will accuse me of being racist. This has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with utilizing the legal system for proper credentials. If there is a couple of illegal immigrants with children who were born in the united states. They should be allowed to either renew or obtain Green Card status. Then they should apply for citizenship in the United States. It's a wining situations for all if there are some strict penalties imposed on both the employer and the employee who does nothing to ensure that there are no more illegal immigrants stateside.
