Noah
and the
cursed Ham
Genesis 9:20
Noah, the tiller of the
soil, was the first to plant a vineyard. 21. He
drank of the wine and became drunk, and he uncovered himself within his
tent. 22. Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father's nakedness and
told his two brothers outside. 23. But shem and Japheth took a cloth,
placed it against both their backs and, walking backward, they covered
their father's nakedness; their faces were turned the other way, so
that they did not see their father's nakedness. 24. When Noah woke up
from his wine and learned what his youngest son had done to him 23. he
said, "cursed be Canaan; The lowest of the slaves; Shall he be to
his brothers." 26. And he said, "Blessed be the Lord, the G*d of Shem;
Let Canaan be a slave to them. 27. May G*d enlarge Japheth, and let him
dwell in the tents of Shem; And let Canaan be a slave to them." -
Tanakh (Jewish Bible)
Noah cursed his son, for having
sex with him, after the flood. The sin
wasn't homosexuality. the sin was father and son laying together. Not
only did Ham have sex with his father, he came back to his brothers and
boasted of what he had done, and tried to get them to go in and do the
same with their passed out father.
Ham
looked upon his fathers
nakedness. This is a phrase used for having sex
with his father. There are racists who would claim that this was the
birth of the african. stating that it was ham's curse, I don't believe
it myself. Here is my theory, and it is just a theory mind you. If
mankind ended up in the higher climates of Mt Ararat and bunker-ed
down for a season or two, waiting for the alleged flood waters to
recede, then wouldn't it make sense that the skin tones would fade and
become whiter? I think that it was the black man who was here before
whites, my suspicion is that higher elevations played into some of this
transformation.
Noah is depicted as a righteious man by the scribes. His human failure
definitly is overlooked. As head of the household, he allowed for a
snare to grab hold of his son. By drinking in excess, Ham saw his
father and desired him. I wonder if Ham himself wasn't intoxicated.
Most people who have drama in their lives, are either the promoters or
the recipients of comsuming excess amounts of alcohol. I highly doubt
that Noah was the only one drinking. I also wonder how sober Noah was
when he cursed his son. People who drink to much, can wake up still
intoxicated from the substance.
Often individuals will not take responsibility for their own lives, and
curse their neighbors. Noah was mad at himself, probably for knowing
better than to loose control. Because of his own shame, he cursed his
son's shame. Fueled by the fire water he drank the night before. Noah
definitly prooves that he is merely a human being and can make
mistakes. This was the guy according to scripture who was saved from
the flood.
So often the Biblical Characters in the scriptures, are given a larger
than life image. The human side of the equation is easily overlooked.
Noah was indeed righteious, there can be no doubt about that. But he
also failed when faced with his own temptations. Many a modern pious
being will point a finger at other people pointing out their faults. It
is not a spiritual walk, it is a judgement walk. Legalists enjoy
setting up snares for others around them. But rarely will follow the
same rules of conduct for themselves.
Sodom
and Gomorrah
Sodom and Gomorrah are also
huge common misconceptions concerning
homosexuality. I think that these cities were destroyed because of
arrogance and inhospitality more than anything. what part of raping
your neighbor is loving them? Sodomy was invented much later
in
the catholic church, to connect the
destruction of these two cities with homosexual activities.
Ezekial 16:49
Only
this was the sin of
your sister Sodom: arrogance! she and her
daughters had
plenty of bread and untroubled tranquility; yet she did not support the
poor and the needy. 50. in their hautiness, they committed abomination
before Me; and so I removed them as you saw.
The prophet Ezekial, knew what
the teachings of the Jews was. He
publickly states that doctrine. The Sins of Sodom and Gommorah are
headed as arrogance.
Under the position of arrogance
we discover that these people were not
kind to the stranger, nor did they feed the hungry, or take care of the
poor and widowed. this was thier crimes against G*d and humanity, a
narcissistic approach towards basic societal rules. These had violated
the Noatic Laws, and hence were heretics before G*d.
As much as prayer is the
wonderful fragrence to G*d like that of
incense. When mankind sins, the smell is dirty and a blemish on that
part of the earth.
The Jewish Scripture says
little about same sex relations, nor does the
canonized christian bible. There are many embellishments in the
Christian scripture, adding necessary paragraphs that go beyond what
the passage originally said.
I have read in some books where the interpreters, were not able to
write about the kiss between David and Jonathon. it always amazes me
how these can write in new sentances in the name of "modernising" the
written word. It was a kiss, not a hand shake as some versions of the
scripture will tell you.
My suscpicion concerning Ruth and Naomi and Daniel and Ashpanaz, are
limited in information. I think there probably is more information in
the original texts than what has been written in the english versions
of the literature.
Ruth
and
Naomi
Naomi was ruth's daughter in
law, after the death of naomi's husband.
one wife left to join her families in the area and assimilate with
thier G*ds. She didn't desire to travel back to Ruth's peoples and be
estranged from the support of her local friends and families. It is
quite a courageous effort on Naomi's part, to "cleave" to her mother in
law, and go to a country where she would be a foreigner.
Naomi chose to stay with ruth
even after a great deal of trying to
persuade her to stay with the land of her fathers. The scripture says
that naomi cleaved to ruth, this is the word used in marriage.
David
and Jonathan
Later on in the Tanakh we find
that Jonathan strips his clothes for
David, they are both young hard bodies who were very much in love with
each other. how do we know? In the book of psalms, David writes about
his joys and his sorrows before the Lord. He never repents of his Love
for Jonathan, but proclaims oh Jonathan, how my love for you has
surpassed the love for a woman.
For a Military MAN, to remove
his tunic and to pass to David his sword,
and belt and shield. was to give complete service to David. his Lover,
there is no greater a thing, than to remove your clothes before your
lover in a ceremonial expression, to
let your partner know that, you are in complete submission and service
to Love.
I Samuel 18:1-4
When David finished
speaking with Saul, Jonathan's soul
became bound up
with the soul of David; Jonathan loved David as himself.
Saul took him into his
service that day and would not
let him
return to his father's house. 3. Jonathan and David made a pact,
because Jonathan loved him as himself. 4. Jonathan took off the cloak
and tunic he was wearing and gave them to David, together with his
sword, bow, and belt.
I Samuel 19:1
... Jonathan was very fond of David...
I Samuel 20:3
... "your father knows well that you are fond of me and has
decided..."
I Samuel 20:17
Jonathan, out of his love
for David, adjured him again, for
he loved
him as himself....
I Samuel 20:39
The boy suspected nothing;
only Jonathan and David knew the
arrangement..
I Samuel 20:41
.. they kissed each other and wept together; David wept
longer
Daniel
and Ashpanaz
Both of these men loved each
other, but both were eunichs for the
Babylonian empire. Daniel is taken under Ashpanaz's wing and learns the
secret practices of the Baylonians. He has an advantage over the rest
of the seers and diviners in Babylon. He has the G*d of Abraham, Isaac
and Jacob to aid him. The angels of the Lord come to his aid at various
times. showing that his G*d was real, and so was his power.
Later we find Daniel gets a
purple robe from the king nebuchadnezzer,
which is a custom among the ancients. The seers and Diviners were held
in great esteem, by the king and lowest Babylonian. The Purple robe can
be taken, as a homosexual color, as well as for the holy men.
Leviticus
and Deuteronomy
The common scripture that
fundamentalists use for fire and brimstone
preaching is from Leviticus chapter 18. The translations often say "you
shall not not lay with
a man as with a woman," my take on this is that the PRIESTS, were not
to
practice the common hedonistic priesthood practices of the day. many
temples had priests and priestesses who would exchange money for sex to
support the work of the temple, often there would be some sex slavery
involved as well.
Leviticus is for the
Priesthood, not the common {but not really}
folk. The book of Deuteronomy is the book that the regular peeps would
read. It was about achieving oneness with G*d. This book almost repeats
the book of Leviticus word for word, but doesn't included that
particular passage that is in chapter 18 of Leviticus. why? I think it
is because the tabernacle priests were not allowed to perform sexual
acts while performing [not while living in their home, but when they
were physically in the tabernacle] the duties of the tabernacle.
This meant with Men or Women. both sexes, it was forbidden.
Genesis 38:21
Then he asked the men of
that place, saying, where is the harlot, that was openly by the way
side? and they said, There was no harlot in this place.
The
funny thing about this
scripture in Genesis chapter 38, is that the world is Qadeshaw, which
means "temple female prostitute". Leviticus 18 is an embellishment by
the orthodoxy to place fear into the minds of its believers. making
them think that homosexuality is bad. this is not what leviticus 18,
says in any way shape or form. the same word is used later in the book
of deuteronomy when, Tamar pretended to be a prostitue in the
public streets. a common practice for the time period for
temple
prostitutes generated large sums of money for the upkeep and
maintenance of the priesthoods. The very word is used in more than one
place in the bible, and if you would like to research this more, I
recomend several versions of scripture. You will minimally need a
hebrew and greek lexicon concordance, so that you can follow the breat
crumbs that the patriarchal writers couldn't erase from the traditions.
The
Gospels and Homosexuality
In the traditional canonized
gospels, I have found no references to
Jesus striking out against homosexuality as a sin. The recurring
message is to turn away from your own sins, and draw closer to G*d, for
G*d is love.
