Recently, Mattel
had a huge toy recall on products that were made in China. These
inferior products that don't measure up to today's American Standards
were polluted with led products. My thinking is this, if it shows up in
the toys, Then it probably exists in most of the products made there.
The reason for this is that the Chinese have a lower tolerance
threshold than the United States does.
The
CEO for Mattel is trying to be sneaky and claim that the toy
manufacturer has strict policies. These testing procedures were not
implemented until the damage was done and the products already hit the
store shelves.
This
was a huge mistake on Clinton's part, to sign that trade agreement. At
the time the president said that it would be good for both countries.
My suspicion is that it is no where near a mutual benefit. Corporations
need to stop using the buzz words "free trade." It is not free trade if
the laborers who build the product are slaves. They should be getting
pay that reflects the purchase of the product.
There are very few exports
to China. We import many products from China. One of the greatest
offenders of this system is Wal-Mart.
In order to be a supplier for this monster box store. You have to be
willing to relocate your plant in China. It is part of the agreement.
Here's a newsflash for you. Just because there is a huge American flag
in front of the store. Does not make it an American establishment.
Those who shop there for the convenience of low prices. are guilty of
supporting slave labor.
This
writer has stayed as far away from Wal-Mart as possible for years. I do
my best to purchase from local mom and pop shops. An example: I go to
local owned coffee houses for my coffee. I'm not even sure that I have
ever stepped foot into a Starbucks. There are many ways to say no to
this awful strategic planned retail giant. Locally we have a store
called "farm and fleet." this store is primarily supplied with American
made products.
I
hope you think about this and boycott the system that has helped to
take away from our job markets. When you buy from local mom and pop
shops. It might be slightly more expensive. But the end result is the
trickle down effect. The money stays local and supports local
endeavors. Even to the point of stocking food pantries. Think about it.
