Today I was
trying to find A local act called Broken Whisper. I had hoped to get in
touch with them. It would have been cool to have them come to a tuesday
open mic at Babs' French Quarter Kitchen. That way Babs can hear them.
Then we could have asked them to be Special Guests on Saturday night.
In a perfect world that would work. Last fall I deleted my MySpace account. It frustrated me to a huge vast degree that Ruppert
Murdoch owned it. Then I was getting more friend requests from bots,
than I was getting from real people. After doing a search for Broken
Whisper of Madison WI. I did find that both guys had a MySpace page. But no public Website. I won't create an account just to get a hold of them either.
Networking sites are ok. But you limit yourself with your connection. Because not everyone is interested in a MySpace page. So not everyone is a member of networking forums. This is okay. But one limits their availibility, when they only have a networking site.
I highly recommend that you get a webpage.
There are many free web sites on the Internet. Red Dragon Free Press
plans on putting its final pages on its own site. But for now during
the building process. It is sitting on Bravehost. If you get a Website, The benefit is you can put your MySpace link on your webpages. you can also put your email address on there.
Be good to yourself and think beyond the networking site.
